Arline Magee recently visited her daughter, Cara Magee-Johnston, and grand daughter, Louise, in Louisiana for Louise’s birthday and she brought her copy of the Weekly with her. Ruth Keller accompanied Arline on the trip, where they had the opportunity to travel to Baton Rouge, Natchitoches, and Texarkana.

The Louisiana State Capital building is the tallest in the United States at 450 feet tall. The movie “Steele Magnolias” was partially filmed in Natchitoches. There is a Bed and Breakfast which was the set for the main house. Finally, the Texarkana, AR/TX Post Office is unique in that it sits on State Line Avenue and is “shared” by both states.
