Seriously, who thinks its a good idea to rob a Hardee’s at 6:30 in the morning?
I’m not even talking about whether or not its a good idea to even commit the robbery. That’s a stupid idea in and of itself. No, I want to know what rocket scientist thinks it’s a good idea to rob a Hardee’s at the start of it’s business day.
It’s not like they’ve been open all day long selling Thickburgers and all-you-can-eat biscuits and gravy, filling registers with cash to be taken. At 6:30 a.m. you’re likely to get more cash out of the group of guys that meets for coffee every morning than you are the registers.
Maybe there’s something I’m missing here. Maybe the guy who held up the Hardee’s Monday morning knows something I don’t. Or could it be that he wasn’t really there for cash but just had a hankering for a bacon egg and cheese biscuit and hash browns?
I don’t mean to make light of the situation. Let’s be honest, the only reason I’m talking about this event like I am is because, thankfully, no one was injured. And I’m sure it was an extremely frightening situation for the employees and any customers that happened to be there. When this clown is caught, and he will be caught, he should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Oh, and I’m confident our Breakfast Bandit will be caught because if he’s dumb enough to rob a Hardee’s at 6:30 a.m. when he’s likely to only make out with around $37.50, he’s dumb enough to have done something to get himself caught by the police. It’s really just a matter of time.
On another note, last week I asked for name suggestions for the upcoming addition to my family. Laura and I still haven’t figured any names out. I still contend it would be half as hard if we only knew if we were having a boy or a girl, but I digress…
I did receive some name suggestions this week but Laura nixed them pretty quickly. I don’t know what she didn’t like about “Slagathor” or “Cotton”. I actually kind of like Cotton a bit. And it fits with the sheep theme Laura has going on with the nursery. But I was outvoted one-to-one.
So we’re still looking for name suggestions. If you would like to review our criteria, you can read last week’s column on our website, OFallonWeekly.com.
On the plus side the nursery is painted, carpet has been ordered, and furniture has been procured. At this point, things are coming together smoothly. I figure that can only last until early May when Laura prepares to pop…
