This Saturday the O’Fallon and Shiloh community will come together to hold the 22nd Annual Salute to Scott celebration. The event is free and open to everyone associated with Scott Air Force Base, military personnel and their families, and even O’Fallon and Shiloh residents who just support the base.
Free food and drinks will be served. A large number of local businesses and restaurants will be on hand passing out free samples and coupons. Additionally, there’s tons for the family to do including rides, a petting zoo, live music, antique fire engine rides, and the largest banana split you’ve ever seen.
We at the O’Fallon Weekly will also be on hand. We’re proud to support our local military, veterans, and Scott Air Force Base. If this is your first issue of the Weekly, we hope you enjoy it and consider subscribing.
So if you’re at the Salute to Scott picnic on Saturday, come by our table and say hello. We’ll be happy to meet you.
On a completely unrelated note, as you’re planning your summer vacations, don’t forget to take along a copy of the O’Fallon Weekly and take a photo with it for the Weekly Traveller. As you can see just below this column, we love to showcase local folks on vacation with their copies of the paper. Very soon I will be printing a map of where the Weekly has been over the last year. Include your trip on that map by sending in your picture this summer.
And for those who care, a brief baby update. Maxwell and Laura are doing great. He’s a great kid with a calm disposition. Laura is already itching to get back to the gym. While we’re all adjusting to the new status quo, all things being equal, it couldn’t be going better.
