Willie (Bill) Benton Stallings, 95, of O’Fallon, Illinois, born October 27, 1920, in Angus, Texas, died peacefully at home with family on September 15, 2016.

He married his loving wife, Suzuko “Suzie,” on February 1, 1957, in Kobe, Japan. He was the greatest man we have ever known and he was a decorated veteran. He served his country in World War II and dedicated 20 years of his life before retiring from U.S. Army. He enjoyed his cigars, apple fritters, and telling jokes all the way until the end. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his devoted wife, Suzie, and never wanted her to leave his side.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Frances Bolam; parents, Henry Stallings and Laura Davis; brothers, Louis, Homer, J. Rufus, and Oscar Stallings; sisters, Rosie Bewley, Clara Carver, and Bethel Wingo.

Surviving are his sons, George (Teresa) Stallings and Jeremy (Cherie) Stallings; daughters, Patty Stallings and Nancy Stallings; grandchildren, Jonathan (Lindsey) Stallings, Joey (fiancé, Jes Blazewicz) Miner, Kayah (Corey) Billups, Chelsey (fiancé, Scotty Strake) Stallings, Rachel Boaz, Owen and Carter Stallings; great grandchildren, Stephen Knupp, Khali and Carsynn Billups, and Sterling Eskra; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends; and special friends, Dr. Harry Maue and Ron Brawley.
